Kinesiological Movement Analysis Rowing Using a Stationary Rower

Order Description

PTA103 Kinesiology
Kinesiological Movement Analysis Paper

The purpose of the paper is to perform a detailed analysis of a functional movement activity that involves movement of the upper and lower extremities and the spine. You may choose to analyze a movement associated with an athletic activity (the breast stroke in swimming, pedaling a bicycle, throwing a baseball, etc.) or some other functional activity that is performed during daily activities (washing windows, mixing a batch of cookies, lifting a box off the floor). These examples are meant for guidance only. Use your imagination and analyze something that is of interest to you. You may work on this project individually or with a partner.

In performing this analysis the only part of the paper that may require any specific research is the introduction section where a brief history of the activity is presented. The actual movement analysis is based on your application of the knowledge of movement and function that will be discussed in the course.

Please let me know your choice of topic by July 6, 2015 and let me know if you plan to work with a partner. The paper is due on August 10, 2015 at 8:00 AM. The paper may be submitted in hard copy form or in an electronic format. Microsoft Word is the preferred format for electronic submissions. Other formats may not open correctly or formatting may be lost.

The paper must be typed, double spaced, font size of 10-12, one inch margins. The paper must include a cover page that includes the title of the paper, class name and number, date of submission, and the name(s) of the author(s) (see a sample title page at the conclusion of this document). The paper should be divided into sections as indicated by the outline presented below. Each section should have a subtitle to clearly identify what is being discussed in that section. The paper should also include pictures or drawings of the motion being evaluated. In addition to content grammar, sentence structure, proper use of paragraphs, etc. are part of the grading process. The use of bullets or an outline format may be employed if this covers the required information.

The following outline may help to organize your thoughts for the project:

I. Introduction (10 points)
a. Describe the activity that you will be analyzing
