Your introduction is due on Day 1 (Tuesday). You have until Day 7 (Monday) to respond to your peers.

Post Your Introduction

For your introduction, please choose one of the options below :

  • Option 1: Create a short PowerPoint presentation (two-to three-slides) which includes a picture of yourself or something that represents who you are, a brief history of your education and work, and why you think it is important for educators to learn about early literacy practice.
  • Option 2: Write a short biography which includes a brief history of your education and work, what experience you have with early readers, and why you think it is important for educators to learn about early literacy practices. Also, attach a picture to your posting so that we can put a face to the name.
  • Option 3: Using a webtool (like prezi, storybird, animoto, zoho, etc.) of your choice, share your own story of how you learned to read.  Make sure to include at least one photograph of yourself.

Guided Response: Because it is important to build a classroom culture, it is important for you to get to know each other as we will be spending the next five weeks together. Read your classmates’ postings and respond to at least three of your peers. Ask questions to get to know your classmates more or comment on connections between you and your classmates. You will find that you share many commonalities.
